The Liberia Civil Aviation Authority (LCAA) will on November 14 join the rest of Africa in commemorating the 26th Anniversary of the landmark Yamoussoukro Decision (YD), signed on November 14, 1999.

The YD represents a pivotal moment in African aviation history—the commitment by African leaders to liberalize the continent’s air transport market.

This historic agreement is the foundation for the Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM); working to achieve:

. Increased Connectivity: Making it easier to fly between African nations.

. Lower Fares: Boosting trade, tourism, and economic growth.

. Greater Efficiency: Creating a unified and competitive African air space.

The LCAA remains steadfastly committed to implementing the YD and advancing SAATM to ensure Liberia benefits fully from a truly integrated African sky.
