ICAO National Inspectors Course Advances Aviation Security in Liberia
As part of Liberia's ongoing commitment to enhancing national aviation security, a vital training initiative—the ICAO National Inspectors Course—is underway, bringing together 20 key aviation personnel from the Liberia Civil Aviation Authority (LCAA) and the Liberia Airport Authority (LAA).
This internationally recognized course, developed by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), aims to empower national inspectors with the skills necessary to conduct effective oversight of aviation security measures, in full alignment with global standards and recommended practices. Among the participants, 16 represent the LCAA while 4 represent the LAA’s Internal Quality Control Section of the Security Department.
Hosting this course in Liberia marks a major milestone in the implementation of the country’s Aviation Security Improvement Plan. It not only strengthens national oversight capabilities but also fosters inter-agency collaboration critical to safeguarding civil aviation operations.
Key Benefits of Conducting the Course in Liberia:
_Strengthened Institutional Capacity: Empowers local inspectors to independently monitor and enforce aviation security standards.
_Enhanced Coordination: Promotes shared knowledge and operational synergy between the LCAA and LAA.
_Sustainable Security Oversight: Reduces reliance on external evaluations, positioning Liberia for long-term autonomy in aviation security governance.
_Locally Relevant Training: Reflects national challenges and priorities for greater impact and practical implementation.
_Strategic Security Advancement: Supports Liberia’s broader goals of safe, secure, and efficient air transport services.
The course is a strategic leap toward building resilient aviation infrastructure and securing Liberia’s skies through empowered personnel and sustained local action.
