The ceremony commenced with warm welcome remarks from the Director General of the LCAA, Mr. Julius D. Dennis, Jr. He highlighted the significance of Aviation Awareness Week in fostering a deeper understanding of the vital role aviation plays in Liberia's economic growth, connectivity, and national development
Director-General Dennis held a significant meeting with ICAO Secretary-General Juan Carlos Salazar and ICAO West and Central African Office (WACAF) Deputy Regional Director Nica Mahzi. He briefed them on Liberia's ongoing efforts to address identified anomalies and improve its Effective Implementation (EI) score following the 2022 ICAO Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme (USOAP) Safety Oversight Audit
The delegation also comprised Mr. David M. Farhat, Chairman of the LCAA Board; Ms. Felecia C. Gray, Director of Human Resources and Manpower Development; Mr. William A. K. Sion Jr., Supervisor of Air Transport and Economic Regulations; and Mr. Joseph B. Johnson, Office Manager to the Director General.
The training program, scheduled to commence in Accra, Ghana, will encompass a one-month duration for Approach Controllers and a three-month period for Aerodrome Controllers.
